MACOMB, IL - - Throughout the month of September, Western Illinois University's College of Business and Technology hosted the annual Professional Development Series intended to prepare students for the job search and a career in business.

Several sessions, including networking, professional dress, résumé building, interviewing, social media and dining etiquette and leadership, were presented by alumni, faculty and industry professionals, with 1,062 students attending.

"We appreciate the support of many business leaders who were on campus to participate in the annual event," said Bruce Western, human resource management instructor. "Through business leaders' generous contribution of time and expertise, our business students were provided with the opportunity to expand their understanding of professionalism in business settings."

He added that students have been extremely complimentary of what they experienced during the two weeks as they expanded their knowledge of the business field.
