MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Office of Study Abroad and Outreach will host TechVenturing: Design, Create and Sell!, a summer youth program for grades 7-12 on the WIU Macomb campus July 23-26.

This summer program is switching gears this year, and participants will design, create and learn how to sell their own inventions, as well as market their creations through websites they create.

WIU Department of Engineering Technology (ET) Chair Rafael Obregon, an internationally recognized design expert; Justin Georges, WIU College of Education and Human Services webmaster; and Brent Payne, ET professor, will teach the students how to design their own stand using AUTOCAD software; build their creation using WIU's 3-D printers and on-campus welding shop and create their own websites to serve as a marketing platform for their design.

For full program information, visit the summer camp website at wiu.edu/summeryouth or call (309) 298-1911.
