MACOMB, IL – As the 2017-2018 academic year came to a close, Western Illinois University Housing and Dining is announcing its resident assistants (RAs) finished the spring semester with a 3.36 grade point average--the highest in the last four years.

"We are extremely proud of our resident assistants," said Mishelle Oaks, director of residence life at Western. "This is the highest GPA the staff team has earned in four years. The caliber of student leadership and academic excellence on our staff is what makes these individuals some of the top role models in student positions on the Western Illinois campus."

In a pool of 100 resident assistants, 60 percent recorded a 3.0 grade point average or higher; 40 percent achieved a 3.5 or above; and 15 percent finished with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
