WIU Chapter of Phi Beta Delta Inducts 22 New Members

MACOMB, IL -- The Eta Epsilon Chapter of Phi Beta Delta inducted 22 new members during its 10th ceremony Monday, April 9.

The purpose of the Eta Epsilon chapter is to recognize and encourage high professional, intellectual, academic and personal achievements in the field of international education. Applications are accepted yearround and an induction ceremony is held in the spring.
Phi Beta Delta, founded at California State University, Long Beach in 1986, was established as an organization in 1987, with 38 chartered chapters, many of which had existed for a considerable time previously at the local level. It is the first honor society dedicated to recognizing scholarly achievement in international education.

This year's inductees include:

Maria Consuelo Abaga Eyang is a graduate student in economics from Equatorial Guinea.

Julia Albarracin is a political science professor from Argentina.

Bayan Mohammad Aljamal is a graduate student in biology from Saudi Arabia.

Jasmine Ariell Brown is a senior exercise science major from Rock Island, IL.

Eriyan N. Brown is a sophomore pre-social sork major from South Holland, IL.

Munia Vanessa Cabal-Jimenez is a foreign languages and literatures assistant professor from Costa Rica.

Molly Marie Cameron is a senior English literature major from Ellisville, IL .

Karen Mauldin-Curtis is the Peace Corps Fellows and Prep Program Manager from Venezuela.

Ramat Olayinka Dada is sophomore pre-nursing major from Chicago, IL.

Tysen Derek Davis is a graduate student in health science from Idaho Fall, ID.

Madeline Heinzer is a senior foreign language and cultures and political science double major from Sugar Grove, IL.

Aimee Nicole Jones is a graduate student in the college student personnel program from Ottumwa, IA.

Shital Guarangkumar Joshi is a graduate student in kinesiology from India.

Glorian Jo Konieczny is a graduate student in the college student personnel program from Muskego, WI.

Osama Madkhali is a graduate student in physics from Saudi Arabia.

Melinda Ann Michels is a senior dietetics major from Monmouth, IL .

D'Ette Evann Myers is a retired Title I math teacher from Macomb, IL.

William Polley is the interim associate dean of the WIU College of Business and Technology and MBA director from Macomb, IL.

Alexandra Crystal Sanchez is a senior dietetics and foreign language and culture double major from Moline, IL.

Ian Conley Schielein is a senior biology major from Dixon, IL.

Lorii Althea Smith is a graduate student in the college student personnel program from Canada.

Sormista Das Tonni is a graduate student in political science from Bangladesh.
