WIU Alumnus to Perform Wednesday at COFAC Recital Hall

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a guest recital, featuring WIU School of Music alumnus Alexandru Malaimare, violin, and pianist Catalin Dima, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.
 
Alex "Nica" Malaimare received a Master of Music in Violin Performance at Western Illinois University, where he studied with Associate Professor of Music Julieta Mihai. Currently, he is pursuing his doctoral degree at the University of Illinois, where he studies under the guidance of Professor Stefan Milenkovich.

Dima currently serves on the faculty of the Washington Conservatory and Sterling Conservatory. He is finishing his doctoral degree at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA, under the guidance of Distinguished Professor John O'Conor.

The duo will perform works by Beethoven, Bartók, Ravel, Dinicu and Hisaishi.
The performance is open free to the public.
