Natural Sciences Research Symposium April 5-6 at WIU

MACOMB, IL – The 2018 Natural Sciences Research Symposium will be held Thursday-Friday, April 5-6 at Western Illinois University.

The event is a venue for undergraduate and graduate students to present their research in biological sciences, chemistry, geology and physics. Biology and chemistry graduate students can present exit seminars and oral presentations.

This symposium will include 113 presentations.

The event schedule includes:

Thursday, April 5

• Oral presentations from students in the WIU Department of Biological Sciences and the Department of Chemistry

Friday, April 6
Poster Presentations

• 1-3:15 p.m. – MAC Gym, Student Recreation Center
- Department of Biological Sciences
- Department of Chemistry
- Department of Geology
- Department of Physics

• 4-5 p.m. – Morrow Lecture by Professor Girish S. Agarwal of Texas A & M University, Currens Hall 203
The best oral and poster presentations will be recognized at the award ceremony with a certificate. The best undergraduate posters will be nominated by each department to compete for the best overall poster at the upcoming Thomas E. Helm Undergraduate Research Day.
