Brassfest at WIU Jan. 21

MACOMB, IL – The 18th annual Brassfest event will be held at Western Illinois University Sunday, Jan. 21 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The day-long festival, hosted by the WIU Resident Faculty Quintet – The LaMoine Brass, will include performances, clinics and a BCA headliner performance by Quintasonic Brass, a chamber ensemble with a mission to promote chamber music for brass instruments through creative programming, recording projects, promoting new works and educational outreach. All members of the ensemble are active international soloists and clinicians.

The BCA performance with Quintasonic Brass will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the COFAC Recital Hall.

The presentation is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest, which is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Illinois Arts Council Agency and the Crane Group.

Admission for the BCA performance is $15 for the public and $10 for senior citizens, WIU employees and youth. WIU students will be admitted free with valid student identification. Tickets can be purchased at BCABringstheStars.com or at the door the night of the event.
