Iktus Duo to Perform at WIU Jan. 20

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University's School of Music will present a guest recital, featuring the musical group Iktus Duo, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Iktus Duo is an ensemble that focuses on the flute and percussion. Hristina Blagoeva plays the flute and Chris Graham plays percussion. Iktus Duo is based in New York City, NY and specializes in commissioning, promotion and educational outreach of new music.

At the recital, they will perform "Pynes," by WIU Professor of Theory and Composition James Romig. Other composition additions will be played, including Carl Schimmel performing "Temper Mutation;" Eric Moe performing "Gong Tormented" and Lou Harrison performing "First Concerto for Flute and Percussion."
