Celebration of Life Set for Lindy Baker

MACOMB, IL -- A celebration of life for retired Western Illinois University photographer Linden (Lindy) Baker will be held 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 at Lake Hill Winery in Carthage, IL (1822 E. County Rd 1540, Carthage). Baker passed away Nov. 1. A private service will be held at a later date.

MACOMB, IL -- A celebration of life for retired Western Illinois University photographer Linden (Lindy) Baker is tentatively scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 (location TBD). Baker, 72, passed away Nov. 1. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Baker joined the WIU Visual Production Center as a photographer I in March 1990. He was promoted to photographer II in 2002, and retired in November 2009 after 20 years of service.

Baker spent a majority of his life behind a camera as a professional photographer. He also taught science and photography in his early career.

"Lindy," as he was affectionately known by his friends and family, enjoyed capturing moments in time during retirement and had many published photos of wildlife and nature. A full obituary can be found at dodsworthfh.com.

He is survived by his mother, Grace (Myers) Baker. Also surviving is his first wife, Marcia (Litchfield) Higgins, and their two children, Eric and Krystal Bottorff; and two grandchildren.
