Budget Director Interviews Set

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Interviews for the Western Illinois University budget director position will be held Wednesday-Thursday, Oct. 25-26 and Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 30-31.

Candidates include Letisha Trepac, director of the WIU Foundation Financial Affairs (Oct. 25-26), and Michelle Haynes, budget director for Student Affairs at the University of West Florida (Oct. 30-31). An open session with campus and community members will be held from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Oct. 25 in the University Union Lincoln Room and Oct. 30 in the University Union Capitol Room and from 2:45-3:45 p.m. Oct. 26 and Oct. 31 in Riverfront Hall rooms 103/104 on the WIU-Quad Cities campus.

Trepac has served as the director of WIU Foundation Financial Affairs since October 2016. Previously, she was the assistant to the academic vice president for budget and personnel at WIU (2012-2016) and has served as a budget analyst in the WIU Budget Office (2009-2012). Trepac has worked as a human resources officer at Western (2006-2009) and as office manager for human resources (2005-2006), as well as in support specialist positions since 1999.

Trepac earned her MBA and bachelor's degree in business from Western.

Haynes has served as the budget director for Student Affairs at the University of West Florida since February 2016. Previously, she was the practice manager for Roberto Maal, DDS (2015-2016) and has served as the business manager of student health, wellness and counseling at the University of West Florida (2011-2015). Haynes has worked in the accounting division of Bizzell, Neff and Galloway (2010-2011) and for O'Sullivan Creel LLP (2010). She has also worked as a project accountant for Opus South Corp. (2006-2009) and Beach Colony Group, LLC (2002-2006).

Haynes earned her Master of Accountancy and her bachelor's degree in accountancy from the University of West Florida.

The University's budget director is responsible for organizing and monitoring the University's $200 million budget. The budget director also plans and coordinates Western's annual operating and capital budgets; determines fiscal year appropriated and auxiliary funds allocations; and submits budget-related requests to the WIU Board of Trustees, the Illinois Board of Higher Education, the Governor's Office of Management and Budget and the Illinois State Legislature.
