Carl Peter Obituary

MACOMB, IL – Retired Western Illinois University Professor Emeritus and Department of Health Sciences Chair Carl J. Peter passed away Sept. 14.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Peter came to WIU in 1984 as an associate professor and he retired in 1994. He was named chair of the WIU Department of Health Sciences in 1991.
Prior to coming to Western, Peter was a health educator and executive director of voluntary health agencies in Illinois, New York, Ohio and Hawaii and a university professor in Nebraska, Kentucky, Tennessee and southwest China.
Peter was a Navy veteran. He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen and Caroline and one son, David.
