Discover Western Open Houses Set for 2017-18, Application Incentives Part of This Year's Program

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- Discover your future at Western Illinois University by attending a Discover Western open house, which provides prospective students the opportunity to tour campus, meet with academic and student services staff, talk to current WIU students and more. New to this year's Discover Western programs is the waiver of the $30 application fee if students apply on-site for admission to WIU.

A variety of Discover Western dates will be offered at the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses throughout the year. Reservations may be made by visiting wiu.edu/discoverwestern.

In addition to the application fee waiver at the Discover Western programs, the $30 fee will also be waived for those prospective students who visit campus to meet with an admissions counselor, take a general campus tour and other admissions-related programs. Prospective students must apply on-site for the waiver.

For those high school students who are interested in getting a jump start on their college career, an automatic scholarship covering two-thirds of tuition costs, is offered to high school seniors who choose to attend WIU classes prior to high school graduation. The application fee will also be waived for students participating in the dual admission program. High school students who are enrolled at Western are not charged student fees or on-campus housing. More information about the tuition discount is available at wiu.edu/highschool. Participating students will also benefit from Western's unique Cost Guarantee that locks in tuition, fees, room and meal plan rates for four years.
