MOLINE, IL - - The Illinois Small Business Development Center International Trade Center (SBDC ITC) at Western Illinois University-Quad Cities will sponsor a workshop, "Export Compliance 201: Reduce Risk, Cut Costs and Increase Your Profits," from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 25 in the QC Complex, Building B, Room 1102.

The workshop is designed to help companies be in full compliance with a host of U.S. export/import regulations and will be presented by Allocca Enterprises, a provider of on-site and web-based international trade compliance education and training. Registration is required. Cost is $50 and includes all workshop materials, refreshments and lunch. Participants must register online at iira.org/event-registration/?ee=18.

"This workshop can be helpful for anyone involved or concerned with international shipments," said Michelle Lewis, international trade specialist at the Illinois SBDC ITC. "It will provide them with the opportunity to learn about topics including the correct way to handle valuations on drop shipments, samples, warranties, repairs and replacements for customs purposes. Attendees can also review and learn about the effects of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), as well as the Successor Liability."

The Illinois SBDC ITC at WIU-QC was initiated in January 2017 to assist small business development and growth in the Quad Cities region and northwest Illinois. The centers' free services are intended to help entrepreneurs start, grow and sustain their businesses.
