MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University College of Business and Technology (CBT) hosted a CBT 50th anniversary trivia night in early April that raised more than $5,000 in student scholarship funds.

The event, which was part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the CBT, was hosted by WIU Management Professor Joe Dobson and Instructional Technology Systems Manager Chad Hankins and included a silent auction and a food raffle with items from local businesses and individuals. Fifteen teams of eight players competed through 10 rounds of questions. First place was awarded to a team of WIU-Quad Cities campus employees.

Jeopardy host Alex Trebek contributed to the fundraising effort by recording a special introduction video and a question for the seventh round of questions.

"Our trivia night scholarship fundraiser was a great night," said Hankins. "The audience was very excited to see the videos from Alex Trebek. A few teams even took pictures with Alex on the screen.

"The night went so well and raised more money than we expected, so we are hoping to make this an annual event and look forward to seeing even more people next year," added Hankins.
