Memorial Dog Walk Planned for Saturday

MACOMB, IL – The eighth annual Donna Phillips 5K Run/Dog Walk will be held Saturday, April 8 at Western Illinois University.

Check-in begins in the Brophy Hall gymnasium, and participants should enter on the east side of the building. The 5K run begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the 5K Dog Run at 9:35 a.m. and the Dog Walk at 9:40 a.m.

All proceeds go toward scholarships and professional travel funding for students in the Department of Kinesiology.

The event is held in honor of long-time kinesiology department faculty member and department chairperson, the late Donna Phillips. More information about Phillips' career at WIU is available at wiu.edu/coehs/kinesiology/donnaphillipsrun/history.php.

Registration for the event is $20 for students; $60 for a WIU student team of four; $40 for Moms' Day teams of two; $25 for the public; $40 for a two-person team and $80 for community teams of four. Registration can be completed the day of the event.
