School of Ag to Hold Chili Cook-Off

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University School of Agriculture will host a chili cook-off from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 at the Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR) house, 1010 N. Lafayette St., in Macomb.

The meal includes all-you-can-eat chili, desserts and a drink. Hot dogs will be available for those who don't want chili.

Guests can vote for their favorite chili as the competing teams try to win the "golden ladle." Celebrity judges for the event will include Macomb Mayor Mike Inman; Vice President Scott Knupp, of First Farm Credit Services and Dietetics, Fashion Merchandising and Hospitality Assistant Professor Emily Shupe.

Tickets are $5 in advance or $6 at the door for adults; $4 for children ages 6-12 and children ages 5 and under will be admitted free.

Tickets are available in the School of Ag office in Knoblauch Hall, room 145, or at the door. The event is open to the public.
