Moms' Day 2017

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University will host a series of activities for Moms' Day Saturday, April 8 at the WIU-Macomb campus.

Activities include:

• 8th Annual Donna Phillips Memorial 5k Fun Run/Dog Walk - Brophy Hall, east entrance

Check-in is at 8:30 a.m. The 5k run begins at 9:30 a.m., 5k dog run begins at 9:35 a.m. and the dog walk begins at 9:40 a.m. Proceeds benefit the WIU Department of Kinesiology and its student organizations.

• Spring Wildflower Hikes
Argyle Lake State Park, Colchester
10 a.m.-Noon
Enjoy the first blooms of spring and the pace and serenity of nature on this morning nature hikes in the woods of Argyle. The one- to two-mile hikes will begin at the park visitor center. For more information, call the park visitor center at (309) 776-3422.

• Feather Your Nest With Mom
West Central Illinois Arts Center, 25 East Side Square, Macomb
1-3 p.m.
Create a multimedia canvas that's personalized to your family. Make a speckled egg for each family member or child. You will be guided through a simple nest painting, then layer with burlap and papers to end up with a painting just in time for spring. Materials for the canvas will be supplied, along with an apron.

Snacks will be provided.

• Big Pink Volleyball
Spencer Student Recreation Center
3-5 p.m.
This event is free and no registration is required.

• UU Bingo
Heritage Room, University Union Second Floor
8 p.m.
Bingo will be free and is open to all students and family members. There will be multiple games to participate in and win prizes for. Free popcorn and beverages will be served.
