Art by WIU Professor on Display in Annex Gallery

MACOMB, IL – An exhibition of art created by Western Illinois University Professor of Art Tim Waldrop called "Stomping Ground" will be on display through Wednesday, March 1 in the gallery of the Heating Plant Annex.

A reception for Waldrop will be held in the gallery from 7-9 p.m. March 1, in conjunction with the WIU Department of Art's First Wednesday program. The reception is open free to the public.

"I often challenge the significance of an image by placing it arbitrarily within the confines of a space, or by pairing it with, or superimposing it onto, another image," said Waldrop. "This juxtaposition of like and unlike imagery creates a result quite similar to that of a 'collage.' This collage-like tempo alludes to the ideas of recurring thought or suggests a passing moment in time."
