Elements Now Accepting Submissions For 2017 Publication

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University's Literary Magazine, Elements, is now taking submissions for its 2017 publication. The submission deadline is 4 p.m. Friday, March, 10 in Simpkins Hall, room 124. Only paper copies will be accepted.

Elements will be accepting submissions for the following categories; original short stories, original poetry, original non-fiction/essays paper, and artwork for the magazine cover.

The requirements for the submissions are the work must be original. Prose entries (story/essay) have a limit of 5,000 words. Prose entries must be typed and double-spaced. For poetry, you must have three poems (one poem per page). Poetry must be typed and single-spaced. Individuals will be limited one entry per category (one story, one essay and three poems). Names and contact information must be printed on the top page of each piece. Paperclip or staple the pages of each entry when submitting; no additional binding, folders, or envelopes are required.
