WIU Musical Theatre Alumnus Performs in National Tour

MACOMB, IL - Isaac Jankowski, a graduate of WIU's BFA program in musical theatre, is currently dancing and singing in the national tour of "42nd Street."

The tour began Dec. 26, 2016, in Naples, FL, and will make 58 stops across the country, ending on May 18 in Mashantucket, CT. Jankowski was awarded a spot in the production's ensemble after a rigorous audition process in New York City in September.

Jankowski's professional credits since graduation include The Provision Theatre in Chicago, Theatre at the Center in Munster, IN, Fiddlehead Theatre in Boston, MA, and two summers at the Tibbitts Summer Theatre in Clearwater, MI.

While at Western, Jankowski performed leading and featured roles in "Anything Goes," "Bat Boy," "Oklahoma!," "Ordinary Days" and "Smokey Joe's Café." While a student, he spent his summers performing at Circa 21 Dinner Theatre in Rock Island, IL, and at the Pinecone Playhouse in Island Park, ID.

Jankowski graduated from Western in May 2014, magna cum laude, as a University Honors Scholar in musical theatre, and was on a Presidential Scholarship for four years. He is originally from Clinton, IA, and currently lives in New York City.

Jankowsi and 42nd Street will perform in Davenport, IA Monday, Feb. 13, in Rockford, IL, Tuesday, Feb. 14 and in Champaign, IL, Wednesday, March 22.
