MACOMB, IL – High school senior Faith Stein, of Chicago, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which awards $10,000 per year to academically high-achieving students.

High school students with an ACT score of 30 or higher and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

"After visiting, I had a very good feeling about WIU, because of its atmosphere and student population," said Stein. "It's affordable and it's mid-sized, where you will still meet lots of new people, but won't get lost in the crowd."

Stein hopes to major in special education. While at Western, she plans to participate in student/hall government, religious organizations, student activist groups and organizations relating to music and dance.

In high school, Stein participated in Best Buddies and spent four years as manager of her school's track and cross country teams.
