MACOMB, IL – High school senior Rebecca Langys, of Plainfield, IL, has been awarded a Western Illinois University President's Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room and meal plan at the school.

"I chose Western because of the countless number of opportunities and student activities that this beautiful campus has to offer," said Langys.

At Western, Langys plans to major in computer science. While at Western, she plans on participating in women's club volleyball, Best Buddies and the computer science organization.

In high school, Langys participated in Plainfield South Leadership Corps, National Honor Society, Peer Buddies, club volleyball, varsity volleyball, yearbook, manger of boy's volleyball team and special campus.

To qualify for the WIU President's Scholarship, students must have a minimum ACT score of 30 and have already received WIU's Centennial Commitment Scholarship. The scholarship decision is also weighted by the proof of volunteer and community service.
