International Student Scholarship Award Winners Announced

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Center for International Studies Scholarship Committee has announced the winners of its Spring 2017 scholarships.

This year's winners include:

• Bessie Meyers Scholarship - $400: Catherine Tate, a senior biology major from the United Kingdom

• Dr. In-Kon Kim Scholarship - $1,000: Jun Young Kim, a senior accounting major from South Korea

• Francis and Peggy Davern International Scholarship - $175: Hekmat Alhmadi, a graduate student in chemistry from Iraq

• Macomb Branch AAUW International Student Scholarship - $500: Kadidia Samassekou, a junior biochemistry major from Mali

• Redeemed Students Fellowship Scholarship - $200: Shyan Edwards, a graduate student in instructional design and technology from Jamaica

• WEOG Awards for International Students $500 each:
- Solomon Iyasele, a graduate student in engineering technology leadership from Nigeria
- Amadeo Ramon Carbo, a junior engineering technology major from Spain
- Adeyemi Olanrewaju, a graduate student in biology from Nigeria
- Maria Bessmertnaya, a sophomore accounting major from Russia
- Oluwatosin Omoniyi, a graduate student in public health from Nigeria
