MACOMB, IL — For the third consecutive year, Western Illinois University is once again waiving the $30 application fee for area high school students who apply to WIU. Those graduating seniors who apply for admission to Western for the Fall 2017 semester will have the University's application fee waived.

The eligible counties include high schools in Adams, Brown, Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Knox, McDonough, Schuyler and Warren. In addition to the application fee waiver, an automatic scholarship covering two-thirds of tuition costs is offered to high school seniors who choose to attend WIU classes prior to high school graduation. More information about the tuition discount is available at wiu.edu/highschool.

WIU admissions staff will also visit local high schools throughout the semester, with follow-up visits in Spring 2017. High school seniors may apply to Western for the Fall 2017 semester now, with acceptance letters going out within approximately one week of receipt of application. The next Discover Western open house events will be held Saturday, Oct. 29 and Friday, Nov. 11. To register, visit wiu.edu/DiscoverWestern.

To apply to WIU, visit wiu.edu/apply. Local students should select the fee waiver option on the payment screen and the $30 will not be applied based on the high school attended.
