MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Gamma Phi Omega colony has been recognized as a Phi Chapter, becoming the 21st undergraduate chapter in the Midwest. The international sorority has undergraduate and alumnae chapters across Illinois, Indiana and Texas.

The colony was created in March 2015 (with eight founding members) and has been working to establish the organization as a chapter of the Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority.

The WIU colony had to appear before the National Board of Directors (NBOD) to present on campus events of the past year in order to be recognized. The chapter now continues to grow and spread their message of sisterhood, leadership and success.
