Associate Director for Human Resources Interviews Set

MACOMB, IL -- Three candidates have been selected to interview for the associate director for human resources at Western Illinois University.

The candidates include Cynthia Lotz, administrative clerk/business-administrative associate, academic personnel, WIU (Sept. 21); Amy Chambers, human resources generalist, Great River Health Systems, Burlington, IA (Sept. 21); and Michelle Kovacs, human resources manager, department of surgery, University of Chicago (Sept. 22).

Open sessions will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. (Lotz and Kovacs) and 2:30-3:15 p.m. (Chambers) in the University Union Fox Room.

Lotz has served as administrative clerk/business-administrative associate at WIU since January 2013. Previously, she was the human resources coordinator at Bridgeway, Inc. in Macomb from 1995-2013, and human resources assistant from 1994-95. She has also worked as the human resources secretary and graduate placement secretary at DeVry Institute of Technology (1989-1993) and as a word processing operator III in Institutional Research and Planning at WIU (1987-1989).

Lotz received her MBA and her bachelor's degree from WIU.

Chambers has served as human resources generalist at Great River Health Systems since September 2015. Previously, she was a human resource associate at WIU from 2012-15. She has also worked as a benefits counselor (2008-12), admissions/records representative (2006-08), office support specialist in the Department of Engineering Technology, Rural Transit Assistance Center and Rural Economic Technical Assistance Center (2002-06) and office support associate, Knoblauch Advising Center (2001-02), WIU.

Chambers received her MBA and her bachelor's degree from WIU.

Kovacs has served as human resources manager at the University of Chicago since October 2014. Previously, she was a senior human resources generalist for the department of surgery from 2012-14. She has also worked at Loyola University as an administrative manager for the School of Business Career Management Services (2010-11) and benefits team lead in human resources (2007-10), as a benefits specialist (2005-07) and human resources coordinator (2005) at the Illinois Institute of Technology and in a varity of HR-related positions at the University of Nevada (Las Vegas) (2002-05).

Kovacs received her MBA from Loyola and her bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada.
