Trends in Social Entrepreneurship at WIU-QC Campus Sept. 7

MOLINE, IL – Social entrepreneurs drive social innovation and transformation in various fields including education, health, environment and enterprise development. [Schwab Foundation definition]

Western Illinois University-Quad Cities will present "Mega Trends in Social Entrepreneurship" at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7 as part of the WIU-QC Liberal Arts and Sciences Student Organization (LASSO) Social Entrepreneurship Salon Series. The Sept. 7 presentation, featuring Tom Trone, director of sales and marketing at John Deere, will be held in Riverfront Hall, rooms 103-104.

Trone has more than 40 years of experience in the field of entrepreneurship education and business development. He will discuss trends in social entrepreneurship in the Quad Cities and beyond.

The Salon Series is open free to the campus community and general public. According to WIU College of Art and Sciences Assistant Dean James Rabchuk, the series, presented by the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Business and Technology, is designed to bring together thinkers and practitioners to network and exchange ideas related to social entrepreneurship initiatives that serve the Quad Cities area.
