IL Serve Commission Grant Funding to Support 40 Volunteers at WQPT

MOLINE/SPRINGFIELD, IL — The Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service (Commission) has granted Western Illinois University-Quad Cities and WQPT more than $200,000 to support 40 AmeriCorps volunteers.
The volunteers will tutor and mentor at-risk youth at facilities in the Illinois Quad Cities.
According to WQPT, the AmeriCorps program still has spots open.
Volunteers receive a living allowance, student loan deferment and training.
