WIU Admissions Director Candidate Interviews Aug. 1, 2 and 8

MACOMB, IL — Three candidates have been selected to interview for the Western Illinois University Director of Admissions position. The candidates will interview August 1, 2 and 8.

The candidates are: Robert Trusz, dean, library services, Shawnee State University (Portsmouth, OH); Seth Miner, interim director of admissions, Bemidji State University (Bemidji, MN); and Juanita Morris, director, undergraduate recruitment, Jackson State University (Jackson, MS).

Open sessions will be held in the University Union Lincoln Room with each candidate. The open-session schedule is as follows:


  • 2:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1: Robert Trusz
  • 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2: Seth Miner
  • 12:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8: Juanita Morris

Robert Trusz

Trusz has served as the dean, library services, at Shawnee State University since October 2015. Previously, he was the vice president for student affairs and enrollment services at Shawnee State (2013-15), associate vice president for enrollment management at Shawnee State (2006-13) and director of admission at Shawnee State (2000-06).

Trusz earned his master's degree in education (emphasis in college student personnel services) from Purdue University in 1981 and his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Purdue in 1980.

Seth Miner

Miner has served as the interim director of admissions at Bemidji State University since July 2015. Previously, he was the associate director of admissions and enrollment and scholarship coordinator at Bemidji State (2014-15), associate director of admissions at Upper Iowa University (2011-14) and area coordinator (residence hall complex) at Luther College (Decorah, IA).

Miner earned his master's degree in higher education administration (leadership emphasis) from Upper Iowa University (Fayette) in May 2014 and his bachelor's degree in history/pre-law from Waldorf College (Forest City, IA) in 2003. He is currently pursuing his doctorate of education (emphasis on higher education policy and administration) at St. Cloud State University (St. Cloud, MN).

Juanita Morris

Morris has served as the director, undergraduate recruitment, at Jackson State University since August 2014. From 2011-14, she was the associate vice president for academic affairs at Lane College (Jackson, TN). She also served as: the director for the office of institutional research and effectiveness at Mississippi Valley State University (Itta Bena, IL) in 2011; an adjunct faculty member at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (2010); and a high school math teacher in Danville (IL) from 2007-09.

Morris earned her doctorate and her master's degree in higher education administration and foundations at Illinois State University and her bachelor's degree in mathematical sciences and statistics from the University of Illinois-Springfield.
