WIU Mourns Death of Child Care Employee

MACOMB, IL -- Susan Vaughn, a child development associate in the Western Illinois University Infant and Preschool Center, passed away July 4 at home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7 at Shawgo Funeral Home in Astoria. Visitation is this evening until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Vaughn, 58, worked at the Infant and Preschool Center for 15 years. Along with working at WIU, she, along with her husband, was the owner of Vaughn Farms in rural Vermont. She is survived by her husband, Robert; her parents; two children; one brother and four grandchildren.
"The Western Illinois University community mourns Susan's death," said President Jack Thomas. "We extend our condolences and our thoughts to her family and friends."
