MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University Applications Analyst Jill Griffith, of Administrative Information Management Systems (AIMS), has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for July.

Griffith was hired as a library technical assistant I in the WIU Libraries in May 2000, and was promoted to application programmer I in AIMS in November 2000. In October 2005, she was reclassified to applications programmer II, and in October 2009 she was reclassified to applications programmer III, both in AIMS. Her reclassification to her current position came in January 2013.

According to her nominators, Griffith is "extremely accommodating" and "makes things happen."

"She is always ready to tackle a project and keeps her department current, even cutting edge, systematically," said her nominator. "She worked with a department on campus to build the roommate matching system."

In August 2010, the Goldfarbs established an endowment to permanently fund the University's Civil Service Employee of the Month award. The Goldfarb endowment is used to fund a $100 award for the recipient of the Civil Service Employee of the Month, as well as a plaque.

The WIU Foundation provides a $500 stipend for the Civil Service Employee of the Year. Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for the monthly recognition should contact Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) representative Connie Lincoln at CM-Lincoln@wiu.edu.
