"Pigskin Preview" was nominated for the category of "Outstanding Live Studio/Remote Hosted Programming/Collegiate Student" in the 2016 SVG and NACDA Award contest. It featured junior broadcasting major Danny Frey, of Springfield (IL), as host and producer. WIU Broadcasting and Journalism Instructor Sean Ingrassia serves as an advisor for the program.

MACOMB, IL – A Western Illinois University program has been named a finalist for a national sports media award.

The "Pigskin Preview" show, featuring WIU's football coaches, was nominated for a 2016 Sports Video Group (SVG) and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) award.

The show was nominated in the category of "Outstanding Live Studio/Remote Hosted Programming/Collegiate Student." It featured junior broadcasting major Danny Frey, of Springfield (IL), as host and producer. WIU Broadcasting and Journalism Instructor Sean Ingrassia serves as an advisor for the program.

Winners of the national awards will be announced Thursday, June 2 at the eighth annual College Sports Media Awards Ceremony at the SVG College Sports Summit in Atlanta (GA).
