WIU: Who We Are, What We Do: The Bainters

Behind the bricks and mortar, there are the people of Western Illinois University and the Macomb community.

Who We Are: Brock and Megan Bainter. We both graduated from WIU. Brock graduated in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in education, and I graduated in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising and received my MBA in 2009. We are the parents of our son Bryden(2) and soon to be a baby girl due in August. We both have parents who are WIU alumni and we are proud to have attended and graduated from the University just like they did.

What We Do:

Brock: I teach eighth grade social studies at Macomb Junior High school, and I coach sophomore basketball and varsity baseball at MHS and the American Legion Baseball team. I also serve on the Macomb Little League Board.

Megan: I am a financial aid adviser and a Building Connections mentor at WIU.

Why We Love WIU: WIU has been a part of our lives since we were little kids. We both grew up attending activities and sporting events on campus. Going to football and basketball games were family outings for us and continue to be. We feel fortunate to have grown up here and had WIU be part of our lives for so long and now we get to share that with our children. WIU is truly a part of our family!
