Annual Juried Student Exhibition Opens April 23 at Western

MACOMB, IL - The 2016 Annual Juried Student Exhibition will open Saturday, April 23 on the second floor of the University Art Gallery.

WIU students, of various majors, submitted original work in a variety of mediums to be considered for the exhibit. Of the 76 submissions, 32 pieces were selected by juror Frank Trankina, professor of art at Northern Illinois University and a prolific artist.

The Purchase Award, contributed by WIU emeriti faculty members Bill and Jo Sanders, and several other prizes will be granted.

A reception will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, with juror's remarks and the presentation of awards at 5 p.m..
