MACOMB, IL – The Performing Arts Society (PAS) will hold its 17th annual Wine Tasting at Western Illinois University Saturday Feb. 13.

This year's event, in the Heritage Room of the University Union, runs from 7 – 9 p.m. The wine tasting will feature more than 60 wines, a variety of hors d'oeuvres, live music by the President's International String Quartet and a Beer Bistro Cash Bar option for those who prefer beer to wine. In keeping with the Valentine spirit of the night, fresh flowers will be available for purchase at the event.

The Wine Tasting is sponsored by Citizens Bank, a division of Morton Community Bank. Reservations are $40 for unlimited wine sampling and souvenir wine glass, or $20 for a non-alcohol option. Complimentary coffee and cola will be available. Those who prefer beer to wine can enjoy the Beer Bistro Cash Bar with a $20 admission ticket.

The PAS proudly funds the Youth Performing Arts Series, which brings over 7,000 area school children to Western's campus for live performances each year. Area schools attend these performances at no charge and bus expense is reimbursed to the schools, as well. Additionally, PAS provides scholarships to area youth to attend the Summer Music Institute at WIU.

Reservations can be made by calling (309) 298-1618 in advance, or tickets can be purchased at the door. For questions about the Wine Tasting or the Performing Arts Society, contact Jill Beck at jk-beck@wiu.edu.
