MACOMB, IL – Macomb American Legion Post 6 will host The December Big Band Spectacular from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, to benefit the American Legion and the Western Illinois University jazz program.

The event will be open to the public at the Legion post, at 221 E. Washington St., Macomb. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

During the performance, the 17-piece JSO will perform big band classics and holiday favorites. A menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, pork chops and chili will be available.

"There is nothing like hearing a big band live, performing the great music of the 1930s and 40s," said JSO Director John Cooper. "Our students are also excited to partner with the American Legion for this event and help give back to this great organization that provides so much to the veterans and their families in the Macomb region. We want as many people as possible to come out, enjoy some wonderful food, hear some great music and support our American Legion Post 6. We are grateful for the support our community has given WIU jazz."

For more information, call the Macomb American Legion Post 6 at (309) 833-2951.
