WIU to Celebrate International Education Week Nov. 9-20

MACOMB, IL — Students, faculty and staff at Western Illinois University will celebrate International Education Week this month.

Events and activities at WIU commemorating the celebration will start Monday, Nov. 9 and run through Friday, Nov. 20, according to the WIU Center for International Studies International Student Services Assistant Director Dana Vizdal.

Highlights of International Education Week activities this year at Western include:

  • Cultural Café: Spotlight on Russia – noon, Monday, Nov. 9, University Union Grand Ballroom
  • Climate Change Presentation – 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, Morgan Hall 101B
  • Peace Corps General Information Sessions – 2 and 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, Stipes Hall 501
  • World Cup Indoor Soccer/Badminton/Table Tennis Tournament – 4-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, Donald S. Spencer Student Recreation Center
  • Indian Food Demonstration – 4-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, Knoblauch Hall 230
  • "Babadook" Screening – 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 , Morgan Hall 109
  • "Waste Land" Screening – 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, University Union Sandburg Theatre
  • Study Abroad Informational Meeting – 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, University Union Algonquin Room
