MACOMB, IL – All roads lead to WIU Friday-Saturday, Oct. 2-3, as Western Illinois University hosts its annual Homecoming celebration with "Rocky's Road Trip."

Homecoming 2015 will feature reunions for the classes of 1965, 1975 and 1990, but alumni of all years are welcome to celebrate being a Leatherneck.

Events kick off the week before with the annual "Celebrating Town & Gown" event Sept. 24, along with the unveiling of the 2015 "Rocky on Parade" statues. Then, Homecoming weekend events begin at 5 p.m. Friday with an All Alumni Social at the Alumni House. Complimentary food, beer, wine and soda will be available, as well as a cash bar.

At 8 a.m. Saturday, the "Old Stompin' Ground Runaround" 5K run/1.5 mile walk will be held, with registration beginning at 7 a.m. at the Alumni House.

Alumni are invited to watch the popular Homecoming Parade from the Alumni House. The parade leaves from the Macomb square at 10:30 a.m., eventually heads to campus, passes the Alumni House and ends at Adams St. and Western Ave.

At 12 p.m., an alumni cookout will be held at "The Right Place" tent in our new location in Q-Lot. Food will be available at a cost of $5. Representatives from the University's four academic colleges will be available at the tent, as well as from the WIU Alumni Association, the Centennial Honors College, Student Services, the School of Distance Learning and University Libraries.

Events conclude with the Leatherneck football game versus Southern Illinois University at 3 p.m. on WIU's Hanson Field. Tickets are available in advance for $15.

During the days leading up to Homecoming 2015 weekend festivities, students will be participating in a variety of events on campus and in Macomb, including painting downtown windows with a Homecoming theme, painting "Rocky" paws on University Drive, the annual cardboard boat regatta and the annual "Yell Like Hell" event.
