Media Invitation: Fire Safety Training

You are invited to a fire safety demonstration/simulation, presented by the Macomb Fire Department, as part of Western Illinois University residence hall staff training Friday, Aug. 14.
The demonstration will begin at 10:45 a.m. Please meet directly behind Bayliss-Henninger halls, where Macomb Fire Chief Andy Taylor will address the group and proceed with the demonstration. This year, the fire department has constructed mock rooms, one of which is equipped with a sprinkler system, to illustrate the importance of fire safety and sprinkler systems within the halls.
The Aug. 14 presentation is part of a two week-long training for all residence hall staff.
Housing staff, as well as fire department personnel, will be available for interviews.
