MACOMB, IL — Student members of the Western Illinois University Athletic Training Student Association (ATSA) were recently recognized as having the "Highest Overall Contribution from a First-Time Participant" in the National Athletic Trainers' Association's 2015 Athletic Training Student Challenge.

According to WIU Department of Kinesiology Chair Janet Wigglesworth, the achievement will be recognized at the 2015 NATA Convention this summer, during the Pinky Newell Scholarship and Leadership Breakfast Friday, June 26.

According to NATA, the goal of the annual Athletic Training Student Challenge is "to provide an avenue for athletic training students to actively support the NATA Research and Education Foundation, while engaging with other schools in a 'friendly competition.'"
