MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University's Rocky on Parade 2015 kicks off with Artist Draft Day from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21 in the University Union Heritage Room.

Twenty-three sponsors will make their artist selections after seeing the concepts of those who enrolled. The sponsors are assigned draft order, based on the timing of their sponsorship commitment.

The evening will open with live music, cash bar and "tailgating" themed snacks, in honor of the draft day experience. The artists' concepts will then be presented on screen to all guests, and the draft will conclude the event.

The completed Rocky on Parade bulldogs will be unveiled at the Town and Gown event Sept. 24 and "paraded" in the WIU Homecoming Parade Oct. 3. The dogs will then be placed in their final locations.

Rocky on Parade is a public art project that is presented through the WIU College of Fine Arts and Communication. The previous Rocky on Parade bulldogs (from 2013) can be found throughout the community and on the University campus.

The draft event is open to the public, and there is a $5 admission charge at the door. For more information, visit wiu.edu/rockyonparade.
