MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) will hold its election for the upcoming fiscal year Wednesday, April 15-Thursday, April 23.

The WIU CSEC works with the director of Human Resources in the formation of policies relating to all civil service employees by considering problems of civil service employees and making recommendations, as well as providing a medium for passing ideas and directives to the employee groups from the director of Human Resources. The CSEC also plans and organizes social, recreational and educational activities for WIU civil services employees.

Through the CSEC, up to nine $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually to dependents of Western Illinois University civil service employees (both current and retired) and 15 book awards are given to help students. Since 1981, the council has awarded over $150,000 in WIU scholarship assistance and over $24,000 in book awards.
