MACOMB, IL – A Western Illinois University senior broadcasting major has won a national broadcasting award as part of the 2014-2015 National Broadcasting Society's (NBS) National Undergraduate Student Electronic Media Competition.

This is the third grand prize for Tony Jones, of Poplar Grove, IL, in the Audio Entertainment and/or Music Program for his entry, "Turn of the Century." The hour-long radio countdown takes a look back at the number one songs from each year in the 2000s decade, 2000-2009, and discusses the songs' evolution and link to current pop music.

This is the fourth time Jones has won an award as part of the competition.

To become a finalist for an award, a student's work must be accepted by professional judges who work in the field where the type of content that is being evaluated is being produced.
