MOLINE, IL — Sam Killermann, a social justice comedian, is coming to Western Illinois University-Quad Cities at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, Riverfront Hall, room 111. Killermann will perform, "It's Pronounced Metrosexual." The performance is open free to the public.

According to his website (itspronouncedmetrosexual.com/about-sam-killermann/), Killermann travels the country to speak with students about snap judgments, identity and oppression—and he delivers that information with a comedic flare.

"It's Pronounced metrosexual" is Killermann's one-person, comedy show that focuses on the cycle of oppression, the delicate balance between individual and group identity and also includes some over-sharing of embarrassing personal experiences on Killerman's part.

Killermann's TEDx talk at the University of Illinois-Chicago, "Understanding Complexities of Gender," has more than 100,000 views on YouTube. He is also the author of "A Guide to Gender," founder of the non-profit Gamers Against Bigotry and dedicated to creating inclusive online spaces through his co-creation of The Safe Zone Project.

Killermann's presentation is part of the 2015 University Theme lecture series and is sponsored by Bethany for Children and Families and WIU-QC.
