WIU Color Craze 5K is April 18

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University's 2015 Color Craze 5K, which raises money for Special Olympics Area 4, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18 at Vince Grady Field.

The event will be held rain or shine, and check-in begins at 9 a.m. At each kilometer, a station will be set up where participants will be covered in color powder. The race will begin and end at Vince Grady Field and is open to runners and walkers ages 7 and older. No strollers or pets will be allowed in the 5K.

After the 5K, the event will continue with music, Zumba, food and prizes at Vince Grady Field.

This year's Color Craze is sponsored by Eta Sigma Gamma, Phi Epsilon Sigma, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Organization of Adult Students for Interaction and Support (OASIS).

Registration before Monday, April 6 is $35, and after that date is $50. Groups of five or more will get a reduced rate of $5 per participant, and groups of 10 or more will get a $10 discount. The be eligible for the discounts, registration forms and payment must be dropped off in Stipes Hall, 402 by 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 3.

The registration fee includes a t-shirt, a packet of paint powder, food and beverages before and after the race, entrance into the Color Crazy Dance Party, as well as eligibility for door prize drawings.
