WIU, City of East St. Louis Officials Meet to Discuss Enhanced Partnership

MACOMB, IL -- During the summer months, Western Illinois University and the City of East St. Louis (ESL) entered into a partnership to provide law enforcement training and educational opportunities for individuals in the St. Louis area through the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board Executive Institute (ILETSBEI) at WIU. The University also opened a new admissions center in the East St. Louis City Hall building to serve the greater St. Louis area. Recently ESL officials visited the WIU-Macomb campus to discuss additional partnership opportunities.

Topics discussed during meetings with University and city leaders included grant writing workshops, additional law enforcement training, internship opportunities for law enforcement, political science and business students, business incubators, fire service training and economic development.
