Stewart Awarded WIU President's Scholarship

MACOMB, IL — High school senior Emily Stewart, of Rockford, IL, has been awarded a President's Scholarship to Western Illinois University, which covers four years of tuition, fees and residence hall room and board at the school.
Stewart plans to double major in political science and theatre at Western. In high school, she was involved in a variety of activities including yearbook, debate team, National Honor Society, student council, swimming, volleyball, softball, theatre and numerous others.
After graduation from WIU, Stewart plans to pursue a career as a political journalist and continue studying law.
The Western Illinois University President's Scholarship Fund provides scholarships each year to students at the University. To qualify for one of the four annual scholarships, students must have a minimum ACT score of 30 and have already received WIU's Centennial Commitment Scholarship. Decisions on scholarship winners are made after the finalists come to campus for interviews.
