Webinar Offered for WIU Advisors

MACOMB, IL – A professional development opportunity for Western Illinois University advisors will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 in the Multicultural Center board room.
A Council of Academic Advisors (COAA) Professional Development & Networking subcommittee applied for and received a site license for a webinar through the Illinois Academic Advising Association (ILACADA). "Integrating Career and Academic Advising" will be presented by the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
The broadcast of the webinar is open to advisors at no cost. After the webinar, small group discussions will be facilitated with attendees.
The theme of professional development for advisors this year is "Career Advising," which kicked off this summer with a common reading assignment and small group discussions. In addition to this webinar, the subcommittee is hosting a workshop with WIU Career Development Center staff and has plans for spring-semester events in the same theme.
