MACOMB, IL — Students, faculty and staff at Western Illinois University's Knoblauch Cafe will honor United States POW/MIAs, U.S. military personnel who were taken as prisoners or are listed as missing in action, next week on Veterans Day.

The POW/MIA Table, according to the Armed Forces History Museum, is a tradition "commemorative to the fallen comrades, as well as [to] the men who [are] still missing in action." Tables at Knoblauch Cafe (in Knoblauch Hall 239) Thursday, Nov. 11 will represent "The White Table," as each table will be covered with a white tablecloth.

Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Cost for veterans is $3.50 per meal, and cost for the general public is $7 per meal. The meal, which is prepared by students in the dietetics, fashion merchandising and hospitality (DFMH) department through a class that gives them hands-on experience in running a food-service facility, includes an entrée (turkey burger or portobello mushroom burger on a pretzel bun and homemade potato chips), a dessert (s'more cupcake) and a beverage.

Contact the Knoblauch Cafe for reservations at (309) 298-1085. Additional information about Knoblauch Cafe meals for Fall 2014 is available at http://wiu.edu/coehs/dfmh/knoblauch_cafe/ (online reservations can also be made via this site).
