WIU Offers Admission Fee Waiver for Area Students

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- Quad Cities area high school seniors interested in Western Illinois University who apply for admission to Western for the Fall 2015 semester will have the University's $30 application fee waived. The eligible counties include high schools in Rock Island, Scott, Clinton and Muscatine (Iowa), Henry, Whiteside and Mercer.

In addition, other eligible counties include high schools in Adams, Brown, Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Knox, McDonough, Schuyler and Warren.

To apply to WIU, visit wiu.edu/apply. Local students should select their respective high school on the application, which will automically bypass the fee payment screen. Students interested in learning more about Western are encouraged to attend Discover Western on the Macomb campus on Monday, Nov. 10 or Discover Western on the Moline campus on Friday, Nov. 14.

Western has also special visit days scheduled at Moline Senior High School and United Township High School Nov. 19 and Rock Island High School Nov. 25. Eligible students will have the opportunity to meet with an admissions staff member, receive admission decisions and obtain automatic scholarship offers on the spot. Similar visit days are currently being planned at Iowa public schools in the Quad Cities region in Spring 2015.

To showcase Western Illinois University - Quad Cities, bus visits have been planned for Nov. 21 for local high school seniors from Moline Senior High School and United Township High School to visit the new Riverfront campus.
